NEW BOOK with CD  -  Oscar Wilde's  'THE SELFISH GIANT / Ï ÅÃÙÉÓÔÇÓ ÃÉÃÁÍÔÁÓ

THE SELFISH GIANT/O EGOISTIS GIGANTAS - Oscar Wilde's classic children's story, 'The Selfish Giant', is now available in an illustrated Greek language book with accompanying CD. The CD, bundled with the book, features the Greek adaptation of the classic children's story.

Twenty-two Canadian children of Greek descent participated in the first ever CD recording of a Greek opera based on 'The Selfish Giant' by Oscar Wilde. The children were accompanied by a symphonic orchestra as well as by the voices of tenor Dimitris Ilias and soprana Maria Diamantis. Twelve narrators(most of them children), and the 23-piece Chroma Musika Sinfonietta were also a participating factor to this work. The Greek adaptation and lyrics were done by Maria Bourani while illustrations by Katerina Veroutsos(foremost illustrator of children's literature in Greece).

'It's All Greek To Me Comedy Show' starring Angelo Tsarouchas, born in Montreal and raised in Ottawa, is the hottest talked about show in Canada today! The multi-talented Tsarouchas who now resides in Toronto, has worked along side some of the biggest actors in the world such as Robert DeNiro, Sylvester Stallone and Al Pacino, just to name a few, has been touring the one man show to rave reviews everywhere. Angelo will be appearing at the prestigous Just for Laugh's Comedy Festival in Montreal this summer, and will be featured on the CBC's National Broadcast of Madly Off in All Directions soon to air to a National audience from Coast to Coast. Angelo has been an established Canadian Comedian for 20 years.

The show 'It's All Greek to Me Comedy Show' was born when touring with the band Poseidon, they needed extra time to set their equiptment up on stage, and Angelo started to talk about his Greek upbringing in Canada to buy time, 40 minutes later, he was saluted to a standing ovation, and now there is a new CD to celebrate this accomplished performance. Angelo was on the shortlist for the critically acclaimed show The Sopranos, and attributes his healthy physique to his Mother's home cooking. Unfortunately, Angelo is not a vegeterian but a favourite on the Yuk-Yuk's circuit.
